I signed up Zircon to help me renovate my Victorian terrace in Kings Heath in 2019. The work included adding two extensions to the existing small gallery kitchen to produce a large kitchen space and an eating area. I am very happy with the work which was carried out and the end result.

In the initial stages I spoke to three local companies and have to say that Zircon were head and shoulders above the others in terms of understanding my brief, offering ideas and answering my questions with professionalism and patience - I have never commissioned an extension before! This was even before I had commissioned them to my project.

The ideas they suggested added to the success of the build and enhanced my initial plans. They offered to speak to experts like my architect and the building regulation representatives, so nothing was lost in translation and things progressed quicker.

They always kept me up to date with the progress and asked me to input when required with enough time for me to arrange to work from home, speak on the phone or mail. They suggested suppliers who have all been of a high standard and who I would trust in my home. Richard would always make sure I was aware of who was in working on my job and ensured my property was secure at all times. I even went abroad while the build was being conducted and did not hesitate to leave things in Zircons hands.

All the tradespeople were friendly and hardworking, and I never had any issues with access or extreme waste. The builders not only made sure that my property was left tidy at the end of the day but also the front of my property, the pavement and the road. This consideration was noted by neighbours. In addition, they always made sure that the neighbours were aware if anything occurred which could affect them (drains being turned off etc.). The neighbours’ feedback that they appreciate the warning and attitude of the builders which was one thing less for me to worry about.

Zircon had good connections which I utilised – the kitchen company, fitters and landscaper. All came up with ideas and listened to what I wanted.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Zircon and in fact I already have to a couple of neighbours.
